Day 1 - Lilongwe
Arrive into Lilongwe International airport where clients will be met and assisted to the transfer vehicle. Road transfer from Lilongwe airport to Cavendish House in a residential area of Lilongwe (30mins). Accommodation at Cavendish House in an executive room on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2 - Mulanje
Your choice of a 4x4 or saloon Ulendo Explorere vehicle will be delivered to Cavendish House with route directions, maps and AA vehicle recovery. Self-drive from Lilongwe to Mulanje in the far south of the country (5 hour journey) a packed lunch will be provided. Stop enroute at the famous Dedza Pottery – watch items being made and purchase any that you like. Accommodation at Lujeri Lodge on a full board basis. This historical tea estate is situated on the foothills of Mulanje Mountain with wonderful views of the area. The lodge which has four ensuite bedrooms, spacious living area and lovely gardens and swimming pool. Activities available include walking on the estate, swimming in fresh water pools, birding and day hiking trips up Mount Mulanje. Hiking trips can be arranged at extra cost through the lodge.

Day 3 - Mulanje

Full day of exploring Lujeri Estate

Day 4 - Zomba Plateau
An easy 3 hour drive from Mulanje to the Zomba Plateau.
Accommodation at Ku Chawe Inn, situated on the rim of Zomba Plateau, in a deluxe room on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Guests will spend the time exploring the area – walking and hiking on the mountain, birding, horseriding and exploring the old colonial city of Zomba. All activities can be arranged through the hotel at an extra cost.

Day 5 - Liwonde National Park
Depart from Zomba Plateau to Liwonde NP via Ulongwe route (2 hour journey) June – end October. Please note in April and May it will be necessary to complete the last portion of your journey by boat due to flooding of access roads. Secure parking is provided for your vehicle and the boat trip up the Shire River takes approximately 1 hour. Accommodation at Mvuu Lodge in an ensuite safari tent on a full board and activity basis (game drives, nature walks and boat safaris)

Day 6 & 7 - Liwonde National Park
2 full days to explore this magnificent park with experienced professional guides with all overnight stays at the luxurious Mvuu Wilderness Lodge.

Day 8 - Cape Maclear (Lake Malawi)
A relaxed 3 hour drive up the lakeshore from Liwonde NP to Cape Maclear at the southern tip of Senga Bay on Lake Malawi. Accommodation at Pumulani in an ensuite villa on a full board basis including all non motorised water sports activities (except waterskiing, fun tube picnic tours and scuba diving). This luxurious lodge is located in the worlds only fresh water national park – clients can sit and relax or enjoy a sunset cruise on the dhow and excursions on offer.

Day 9 & 10 - Cape Maclear (Lake Malawi)
Relax and enjoy the beatiful area surrounding Pumulani. The food, service and experience of staying at Pumulani are comparable to the most exclusive retreats in the world - a truley unique experience on the shores of Livingstones Lake of Stars!

Day 11 - Departure ex Lilongwe
Depart for Lilongwe after breakfast on excellent roads to the airport for your departure flight. The journey takes 3.5 hours and guests are required to allow sufficient time to hand back their vehicle and checkin for international outbound services with South African, Kenya or Ethiopian Airlines.
