Conforzi Lake House

The Conforzi Lake House has been a family
hideaway since 1958. An informal and picturesque
retreat on the southern shore of Lake Malawi,
this cottage provides a perfect setting to escape
and unwind.

Whether you relax in the superb gardens or on
the magnificent stretch of immaculate beach,
or simply soak in the spectacular views and
breathtaking sunsets over an MGT, this quiet
stretch of the lake offers the perfect hideaway.

understand why Fede Puccio Conforzi, when
seeing the breathtaking bay for the first time over
50 years ago, aptly named it “The Bay of Dreams”.

Directions

FROM LILONGWE:
Departing from Lilongwe on the M1 heading north towards the airport - turn RIGHT at the M5 junction near Kanengo towards Salima and continue on this road until you enter the town of Salima (approximately 90km) from Lilongwe. Just beyond the BP filling station on your right as you enter town there is a junction signposted to Monkey Bay and Balaka (M17). Turn RIGHT at this junction and proceed south towards Mua / Balaka for 80km when you reach Golomoti. Turn LEFT at the new filling station in Golomoti onto the S127 towards Monkey Bay. Be careful not to take the first signposted road to Monkey Bay where all the wooden carvings are sold as this is the old dirt road which is in poor condition.
Proceed East on the S127 towards Monkey Bay for 60km. The road comes to an end at a T-Junction.
Turn RIGHT heading south towards Mangochi and Club Makokola. After approximately 15km the Conforzi Lake Cottage and Nanchengwa Lodge signs are clearly visable from the main road. Turn LEFT off the tar road and follow the signs to Conforzi House on the dirt track (approximately 5 minutes)

FROM BLANTYRE
depart Blantyre on the M! heading towards Lilongwe. After the Balaka Police Check point continue for 4.7km towards Lilongwe/dedza and turn RIGHT heading north on the M17 signposted to Salima. Continue on this road for 65km to Golomoti. Turn RIGHT at the new filling station in Golomoti onto the S127 towards Monkey Bay.

It is also possible to use the lakeshore road from Liwonde via Mangochi when travelling from Blantyre however the road is in poor condition in some places and the option via Golomoti is faster.
