British Airways Stike
BA is currently offering: 1. Those who booked to travel between 22 December 2009 and 2 January 2010 and for 48 hours on either side of those dates who would like to take their flight at a different time can change to another BA flight departing in the next twelve months at no charge. 2. BA intend to inform affected customers who have booked on line directly if they have their e-mail address or by SMS text, if they have their mobile phone number. It is essential that passengers booked through Ulendo ensure that we have your correct updated contact details (mobile and email) in your reservation file or alternatively update their details in the “manage my booking” section of the BA website (www.britishairways.com) 3. If a flight is actually cancelled because of industrial action, BA says they will offer passengers the option to refund their ticket, rebook on to a different flight or reroute their journey on another BA flight. What is the likely outcome if the strike goes ahead? Insurance companies differ in the validity dates for a claim. Some are saying 2nd November, the day the ballot was announced, others December 14th the day the result was announced. 1. It appears that those booked before the ballot announcement on 2 November and have insurance to cover for strike action will be able to recover losses from making new bookings but only if and when BA confirm that their flight is cancelled. 2. It appears that those booked after 2 November, or those with no insurance, will be left to find new arrangements. They will be refunded for the price of their original ticket by BA (if the flight booked is cancelled) 3. Even if BA tries to find alternatives for customers availability is already very limited.
