Zomba Plateau

The plateau is spectacular massif rising to 1800m. It has vast tracts of cedar, pine and cypress. The plateau is covered in streams, waterfalls and lakes. The town of Zomba, rich in history, was the colonial capital of Malawi until 1975. A great destination for walking and hiking. Amazing views of the south of the country can be seen from the top of the plateau. Interesting birding opportunities with sightings of long-crested eagle and the augur buzzard.
