Chintheche
Arguably some of the most beautiful scenery and dramatic landscapes of Lake Malawi can be found in the Chintheche area along the northern lakeshore. Lush mountainous vegetation and expansive white sandy beaches create a tropical feel with a variety of small lodges, Inns and camps hidden along this stretch of pristine lakeshore.
The first Scottish Missionaries to settle in Malawi chose Chintheche as their second site to establish a Livingstonia Mission. Malaria took its toll on the missionaries as it had in Cape Maclear and they moved further north to settle on Kondowe Plateau. Bandawe Mission is of historical interest and the original church remains along with a number of missionary graves.
Operated by the Safari Adventure Company, Chintheche Inn boasts one of the finest stretches of white sandy beach in Northern Malawi. A great property renown for it's hospitality and tranquil setting.
Makuzi Beach is situated on the northern shores of Lake Malawi, in a secluded, tropical bay which is home to an abundance of birdlife. Our private beach is the perfect spot to simply soak up the sun.
